On July 17, 1997, Nicolucci Baptiste was a maintenance worker doing some light general cleaning work at the Voorhees Township Building of Education in Voorhees Township, New Jersey. As Nicolucci went to clean out an air duct, a short in the wiring sent a deadly electric charge through the metal duct work straight into Nicolucci’s body which caused his death almost instantly.
