Walter F. Lestarchick, Jr., 53, a lifelong resident of Scotch Plains, New Jersey died on Saturday, December 6, 2003 from injuries he sustained as the result of an automobile accident in Plainfield. Mr. Lestarchick was employed with the Scotch Plains-Fanwood school district as a building and grounds operator for 20 years. During a heavy snow storm Walter was killed while driving a snow plow. Apparently Walter had cleared snow at one of the schools and was heading back to the garage when he was struck by an unlicensed tractor trailer. It was just a horrible accident.
