On December 8, 1953, 26 year-old Coach George Marich was watching over study hall when three students started creating a disturbance. Marich escorted the students out of the room when one of the students, without notice, stabbed the popular coach. When the three students heard the coach had died the one who committed the crime was heard to say “I don’t know why I did it?” and all three broke out in tears.
